Long before whisky carried a name, distilleries stood unmarked on hillsides. Their casks moved in silence, more coveted than spice, passed only between those who knew their worth, recognized only by a few.

Isthmus 44 honours the tradition of those merchants: the instinct to taste, judge, and carry home only the rarest.

We do not make whisky, but we do choose it. Every cask that carries the Isthmus 44 mark was tasted, argued over, and selected on its own merit.

Every cask we choose is released as a Chapter with a fixed number of bottles. There is no reorder or repetition. Once a Chapter closes, only the bottle remains.

Every cask we bring home passes through a panel of makers, writers, and connoisseurs, chosen not for pedigree or trend but because someone in that room could not put the glass down.

A warehouse in Speyside, steeped in shadow and oak. A gust of salt air passing through Campbeltown. Each Chapter carries a signature of the place, the year, and the cask it was drawn from, and can never be poured again.

Every bottle carries another privilege: the key to The Circle, a register of custodianship. First invitations, early release notice, and insider notes from our Panel, reserved for those who already own a Chapter.
